Awwwww yeah.
FuckyeahStephenColbert just reblogged my video from Friday.
Here come the reblogs & likes, kids!
Hello, and welcome to those of you passing through.
Hey guys, look, it’s my hand all the way on the left with the Flipcam.
I was forwarded a tweet this morning at 10:20am from a friend in Baltimore. I was at a Starbucks at Lincoln Center. I had just seen Bruno Mars arrive at The Empire Hotel. Dude is short. And smokes.
He informed that Stephen Colbert and Jack White would be appearing in New York at the High Line park in 40 minutes. I was out the door by 10:35 and on my way downtown. I made the 30-something block trip and was on the line to get in by ten to eleven. Is that some kind of record? I don’t know. Unfortunately, the line at that point had stretched around the corner and down the block. I assumed I had no chance of getting in. I was wrong.
Promptly at eleven, Colbert’s people opened the gates and we all streamed in. Throwing elbows, I made it to the fourth row.
Then, we waited.
It started to rain.
A roadie came out. A guitar was tuned.
The rain continued.
The roadie retuned the guitar.
We continued to wait.
An hour and some minutes later, Jack emerged. Jack White is probably one of the coolest people on the face of the Earth. Imagine the coolest person you can, and then multiply them by a number. That’s Jack. Stephen’s cool too, but I was honestly a little bummed about a couple of things:
This was probably one of the best renditions of the national anthem I’ve ever heard though, so there’s that. Here is the complete performance, for your consideration, from my shaky hands and Flipcam to you. Enjoy.

Video: Congresswoman Quotes White Stripes in Gov. Shutdown Debate
Maryland congresswoman Donna Edwards took to the floor of the House of Representatives today to address the standoff that might lead to a partial government shutdown with “a lesson for [her] Republican colleagues, courtesy of the White Stripes.” Watch above, as Edwards quotes the lyrics to Jack and Meg White’s 2007 Icky Thump song “Effect and Cause.”
I’d like to nominate this as today’s candidate for the greatest thing I have ever seen.
I try not to get overly political here, but I’d like to second the Crumbler’s nomination.
Though I like Jack White, I’ve never been on that Jack-as-rockandroll-Messiah bandwagon.
Though if I were, I’d present this song/video as a sign and wonder of rock and roll divinity.
Thunder On The Mountain - Wanda Jackson and Jack White (via renegotiations)
If there’s one thing I regret about playing drums, it’d have to be the limits it places on your dancing options. Jack & the horn section look like they’re having so much fun!
Jack White, Jay-Z.
Whoa. Too much awesome for one frame.
This shouldn’t be allowed.
