Of all the muscle cars, the Chevelle was always right up there for me.

Oh man, totally did no know the Chevelle came in a wagon… They never really did anything for me until now.

Seating for eight, massive cargo space, big American V8…

Cross country candidate? You bet your ass.

1967 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 Pre-production Trans Am Race Car

I bet it’s loud as all hell. I want it.

Christian Annyas isolated a few classic 1950s and ’60s Chevrolet badges in celebration of the car maker’s 100th anniversary.

I just learned that this was, in fact, Hunter Thompson’s actual Impala. That’s pretty cool.

One day, the words “Renault Fuego” idly wandered into a morning conversation, and two people within earshot suddenly choked on their Krispy Kremes.

Car and Driver - Battle of the Winter Beaters

Is it wrong that I really want a Renault Fuego now? Shouldn’t I have learned my lesson with Mom’s old Alliance over a decade ago?

Actually, you know what? Screw it. Let’s just jump up several levels to one of these and stop beating around the bush.

It’s Been a Long Night in New York City

Sure has, John.

I just got back from an adventure. Walked into the parking garage on 25th and 11th Ave, handed the attendant my release form, and within five minutes I was behind the wheel of a brand-spankin’-new GM fleet Chevy Avalanche Z-71. Complete with Michigan manufacturer plates, I must’ve looked like someone from another world. I found the country station on XM, put my shades back on, and hit the pavement. I was due at JFK in two hours to pick up the editor of, who is in town for a week.

You all know how much I despise big trucks. And this was certainly no exception- the thing is built on the same chassis as the Cadillac Escalade, for comparison. I just had to signal and start to change lanes, and the cabs backed off. It was awesome. Combine that with the leather interior, great-sounding stereo, and all sorts of other little new-car tricks, I was pretty much sold. Sure, it was slow and heavy and felt like I was gonna roll over on some of the off-ramps, but I had a hell of a time. Almost makes me want to get a truck… But not really.

Long story short (but ha! You’ve already read the long story!) I am now kind of ok with pickup trucks when they’re as much fun as this one. Especially when I get to drive them through New York City.
